Paul Reed agrees to three-year, $24 million contract with the Utah Jazz

Paul Reed’s time in Philadelphia might be coming to an unceremonious end. The promising young forward and internet micro-celeb has agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract offer sheet with the Utah Jazz.
This really is yet another case of gross negligence by Daryl Morey and the 76ers front office.
Not only is Paul Reed a gamer with a high motor (exactly what teams need to win the playoffs), but he’s one of our generation’s most under-appreciated thought leaders. Don’t believe me? It’s been well documented here on The Liberty Line.
Theoretically, the Sixers could match the offer sheet, but based on what Woj has reported, I don’t see a future in which they do.
Yeah, there’s no way in hell the Sixers will go into the luxury tax. Ownership is too busy playing around with the Washington Commanders to even consider spending a little extra to build an actual contender in today’s NBA.
Who needs Paul Reed anyway, right?… Right???
I hope this isn’t goodbye, but it’s starting to look like. If this is the last we see of Paul Reed on the Sixers, then good night, sweet prince.
