Sixers match Paul Reed’s offer sheet from Utah Jazz, now have 4 centers on roster

The Philadelphia 76ers matched a three-year, $23 million offer sheet that backup center Paul Reed signed with the Utah Jazz over the weekend.
Sixers match Paul Reed’s offer sheet
Listen, I’m not going to sit here and write about the Philadelphia 76ers matching Paul Reed’s offer sheet like it’s some kind of victory. It’s not. There literally shouldn’t be any praise for this organization for actually doing something correct for once.
Also, the Sixers now have four centers on their roster with Joel Embiid, Paul Reed, Mo Bamba, and Montrezl Harrell. At power forward, they have Tobias Harris and I guess, Danuel House Jr.
The construction of this roster is complete shit, even more so when this team was in desperate need of changes after failing to advance out of the second round of the playoffs for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
So yeah, pardon me if I’m not celebrating with the rest of the Sixers fanbase.
I’m definitely glad Paul Reed is back though. He’s a 24-year old, home grown talent that has definitely progressed over the past few seasons. This is someone that the Sixers typically trade or hell, even just release without ever seeing their full potential so it was definitely shocking they even matched the contract sheet the Utah Jazz offered Reed in the first place.
I Hate This Sixers Tweet about Paul Reed
Um. Yes, Sixers social team. We were worried whenever this incompetent organization needs to make a move. They fail to do the right thing over and over again. The lack of self-awareness from you, Daryl Morey, and everyone else in the front office is ridiculous at this point.
I Hate This Paul Reed Tweet Even More
Honestly, I’m not sure what the Sixers are even thinking at this point. I have a hard time believe that the roster will look like it does today at the start of the 2023-2024 season.
Too many big men. Not enough guards.
Something will likely change. The circus continues into the summer. Enjoy.
