Eagles QB Jalen Hurts turned down being on Netflix’s “Quarterbacks” twice

While us Eagles fans would love the opportunity to see what goes into Jalen Hurts’ preparation throughout the season, it doesn’t appear we’ll get that chance anytime soon.
With training camp officially underway at the NovaCare Complex, Hurts spoke with some local media members after Wednesday’s practice. During his presser, Hurts revealed that he was approached to be in Netflix’s new docuseries “Quarterbacks” not once, but twice.

“I actually turned it down last year,” Hurts told reporters. “I didn’t feel it was appropriate for the year, so I turned down the opportunity to be on it.”
When asked to specify whether he turned it down last year or this year, Hurts said he turned it down both times.
“There’s a lot of the journey to be told and there’s a lot yet to unfold that will be told one day and that time will come.”
After sitting through all eight episodes of the “Quarterbacks” series, the Eagles signal caller would’ve definitely added some much needed juice to the show. Especially if it featured both him and Patrick Mahomes as they both lead their teams to the Super Bowl. That would’ve been something.
Hurts’ new Eagles teammate, Marcus Mariota, did accept the invitation to be on the show last year as one of the three QBs. His storyline was pretty bland comparatively speaking, but Mariota did clear up some of the narratives surrounding his departure from Atlanta last season, which was interesting.
Hurts has said a few times now that his story will be told in full one day. Not in those exact words, but he’s made comments eluding to his journey and how it’ll all be revealed to the public in time. I almost wonder if he already has a camera crew following him, documenting every season in order to drop a “The Last Dance” type of documentary when Hurts hangs up the cleats.
Now THAT would be worth watching.
