WATCH: Tim Anderson and José Ramírez got into the first actual baseball fight in years

Tim Anderson and José Ramírez squared off after an incident at second base, but it wasn’t your standard baseball benches-clearing “brawl.” This was as real as a fight can get. Punches were thrown, and there was a clear winner standing at the end.
Tim Anderson put up the dukes like he was in the ring at the MGM Grand and got slept:
Bah gawd! That’s José Ramírez’s music!
Anderson’s teammates were surrounding them and he still got knocked on his ass. I’m not a fighter by any means, but it can’t feel good to be the first one to square up and wind up the loser.
When was the last time we’ve seen a fight like that in baseball? They so often end up with nothing more than some pushing and shoving, with some yelling thrown in for good measure.
And even when punches are thrown, they either miss their target altogether or make very little contact. Not this time. There hasn’t been a punch this solid in baseball since Rougned Odor popped Jose Bautista in the schnoz.
I mean, just look at this contact. That’s the boxing equivalent of a barrelled baseball.

Here it is slowed down because I bet if you clicked this blog, you definitely want to see it. At least, I know I did, anyway.
