Bryce Harper offers words of encouragement to Media Little League after LLWS run came to an end yesterday in Williamsport

The historic run by the Media Little League baseball team in the Little League World Series officially came to an end yesterday, after they suffered their second loss of the tournament, losing to Rhode Island 7-2.
Media lost yesterday in what was a close game until the final innings. Down 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, they managed to tie the game as members of the Phillies were in the stands cheering them on.
Could you imagine getting the “Big Balls” celly from Kyle Schwarber, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper while playing in the Little League World Series? That had to be an incredible moment and as you can see in the video below, Media was rightfully was fired up.

Unfortunately for Media, the team from Rhode Island took advantage of a few blown calls late in the game, highlighted by this pitch that “hit” the media batter, which started the collapse.
Media coughed up five runs in the inning after this “hit by pitch” call that loaded the bases.

Side Note: Forget baseball, get that kid to Hollywood because that was one of the greatest acting performances I have ever seen on a baseball field.
Bryce Harper speaks with Media Little League Team following 7-2 loss
Following Media’s 7-2 loss, Bryce Harper spoke with the team and offered some words of encouragement.
“Pick up right here and you’ll be okay. It’s a stepping stone to being great, you know what I’m saying? It’s a stepping stone to being great. Camaraderie, having fun, enjoying it. Win, lose, everything – you guys go be great at anything you guys do.”
Tough break for my boys from Media. As a Glen Mills / Garnet Valley native, Media is right down the road. Great representation of Delco and baseball.
Just like Media Little League, the Phillies also lost in Williamsport, PA last night to the Nationals, losing 4-3 and dropped 2 of 3 to Washington over the weekend.
The Phillies are back in action tonight. The Phillies welcome the San Francisco Giants to Citizens Bank Park. Aaron Nola will take the mound at 6:40PM looking to hold the Phillies’ 2-game advantage in the NL Wild Card standings.
