Flyers ink 22nd overall pick, Oliver Bonk, to a three-year entry-level deal

We finally have some movement in Flyers land! Today, the Flyers inked their 22nd overall pick in the 2023 Draft, Oliver Bonk, to a three-year entry-level contract.
Bonk, who played for the London Knights of the OHL, is a 6’2 180-pound defenseman who had 10G-30A-40P in 67 games last season.
Bonk also added 11 assists in 21 playoff games for the Knights.
With all of the hype surrounding Michkov falling to 7, and rightfully so, I feel like not enough people are talking about Bonk.
He’s highly intelligent in his own zone. His first pass out of his end is crisp. He can work on his skating but it’s not that deep of a concern. He impressed during development camp and flashed a few of those qualities I listed above during the scrimmage.
Now, he is slide-rule eligible for the next two seasons so we’ll definitely see him loaned back to the OHL shortly. But this definitely tells us they really, really like this kid.
Fill out the frame, improve the skating as he gets stronger and you might just have something here.
