Wentz, 30, last played for the Washington Commanders after a one-year stint in Indianapolis. He lost his job to Taylor Heinicke after breaking a finger in October and went 2-5 as the starter, leading to his release.
The former Eagles QB hasn’t sustained much success since departing Philadelphia, and his erratic playstyle + injury history leaves many teams reluctant to sign him. Studying under Andy Reid would be a good spot for him.
12-year NFL veteran Blaine Gabbert is the current backup behind Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City, with third-year player Shane Buechele behind him.
