Red October: Here’s how to get an official Philadelphia Phillies jersey for $50, courtesy of PointsBet and Fanatics

The Philadelphia Phillies will open up a 3-game series tonight in San Diego against the Padres after dropped 2 of 3 games in Milwaukee over the weekend.

Phillies Hunt for Red October

Alec Bohm and JT Realmuto crushed back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning yesterday to spark a 3-run inning that ultimately led to the Phillies avoiding a Brewers sweep over the weekend.

Even with dropping 2 of 3 to the Brew Crew, the Phillies hold a 2.5 game lead over the Chicago Cubs for the top NL Wild Card spot. They are 5.5 games ahead of the D-Backs, Giants, Marlins, and Reds who are all fighting for the third and final ticket to the postseason.

Yes, the Phillies lost 2 of 3 in Milwaukee but if you really think about it, that series could have easily been a sweep or at the very least, one where they won 2 of 3. Jose Alvarado aided by Alec Bohm let game one slip away on Friday night and on Saturday, Aaron Nola pitched a complete dud as the Phillies fell 7-5 after a late-inning comeback fell short.

Yesterday, the Phillies avoided getting swept with a 4-2 win in Milwaukee thanks to a 3-run seventh inning that included back-to-back home runs from Alec Bohm and JT Realmuto.
