Oubre Jr. has been fantastic in his first year with the Philadelphia 76ers. He was averaging 16.2 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 38 percent from three point range.
The Sixers have jumped out of the gates to start the 2023-24 season, posting a 7-1 record which is good for first place in the Eastern Conference standings. Oubre has been a major part of their success, earning a starting position after PJ Tucker was shipped to Los Angeles in the James Harden trade.
Now, it looks like he’ll miss significant time. Shams tweeted out this morning that Oubre sustained broken ribs and an assortment of bruises and cuts to his body following the accident.

Note: Kelly Oubre isn’t even the first athlete to have a run-in with the operator of a motor vehicle in the last year or so. AJ Brown got hit by a driver going through an intersection while riding his bike for the Eagles Autism Challenge.
