AJ Brown DeVonta Smith Giants

AJ Brown has nothing nice to say, DeVonta Smith doesn’t care about 11 wins because the Eagles’ offense continues to struggle

Following the Philadelphia Eagles 33-25 victory over the New York Giants last night, AJ Brown declined to speak with reporters in the locker room, saying “I was taught if I had nothing could to say to not say anything. I’ll take the fine if I have to” which had Eagles’ fans fuming on social media.

AJ Brown: “I got nothing to say.”

Eagles fans on Twitter immediately flooded the timeline, calling Brown a “diva” and saying they are “sick of him” acting like a baby and honestly, I couldn’t disagree more.

Side Note: I typically disagree with anyone who’s crying on Twitter following an Eagles win. This time is no different. That goes for the Eagles’ beat reporters too. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why members of the media get so butt hurt every single time a player doesn’t want to talk to them. Get over it already. It’s embarrassing behavior for the fanbase that you’re supposed to be representing.

Why are people mad at AJ Brown? I’m not really sure. I wouldn’t want to talk to reporters either after busting my ass in an offensive game plan that resembles a 14-year old Madden video game player.

Plus, locker room interviews are always boring as shit anyways and when you pair that with the fact that AJ Brown is absolutely correct when saying there’s really nothing nice to say about the Eagles’ offense right now, and he should actually be praised for his “nothing to say” comments.

Brown didn’t register a single catch in the first half against the Giants before hauling in a team-leading six receptions for 80 yards. He registered 10 targets on the night.

I’m old enough to remember how bad wide receivers were here in Philadelphia for the better part of a decade and the fact that anyone would take issue with AJ Brown or DeVonta Smith is beyond me.

On the season, AJ Brown has 101 catches for 1,394 yards and 7 touchdowns. DeVonta Smith has 78 catches for 1,036 yards and 7 touchdowns. Mind you, that type of production is happening in one of the most boring, predictable offensive playbooks in the entire NFL.

Speaking of Smitty, he actually did speak with the media and didn’t mince words in saying that he doesn’t give a shit about having 11 wins when the offense still hasn’t “figured things out” through 15 games this season.

DeVonta Smith: “As an offense, we’re not where we want to be.”

DeVonta Smith Full Quote: “We’re not playing good football right now. As an offense, we’re not where we want to be. I’m not satisfied. Yeah, we got 11 wins. I’m not happy.”

Last night, Smitty had four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Literally no one is happy with the Eagles’ offense but luckily, both the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys lost in Week 16, which opened up a few more playoff seeding opportunities for the Eagles if they handle business over the final two weeks of the regular season.
