Texas State restores faith in College Football wins first ever bowl game, drinks stadium dry, and storms field following 45-21 over Rice University
College football Bowl Season is upon us. Earlier this week, Texas State won their first bowl game in program history in their first appearance ever against Rice University.Â
Needless to say, Bobcat fans were fired up to be playing in their first bowl game since moving to the FBS. While the game was being played, we got news that Texas State fans consumed ALL OF THE ALCOHOL AVAILABLE at Gerald Ford Stadium.Â
Texas State drank Gerald J. Ford Field completely dry
According to reports, Texas State side of SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium was out of beer with 12 minutes left in the second quarter of the Responder Bowl.
Once halftime hit, the Bobcats faithful had ransacked Rice’s side of the stadium. There wasn’t a drop of booze on the premises 5 minutes into the third quarter. [Dave Campbell’s Texas Football]Â
I mean come on folks, it really doesn’t get better than that. I literally have zero clue how a football stadium can run out of beer. There should always be an endless supply available and even if they are running short, doing so by halftime is a criminal offense.
Listen, bowl games have definitely lost their charm over the years. You have players sitting out, ridiculous sponsors overtaking the names of once games, rich with college football history and in the grand scheme of things, nothing really matters unless you’re one of the final four teams that make the playoffs, which is almost impossible for programs like Texas State.
Credit to Texas State and their fanbase for restoring faith in College Football bowl games. Celebrate like you just won the National Championship. Storm the field, drink all of the beer, act like you’re the best team in the world.Â
🚨 Big Man Touchdown Alert

Texas State storms field following 45-21 over Rice University
I don’t even think it’s out of line to say that everyone owes Texas State an apology.
The world of college football was clearly unfamiliar with their game and when the lights were the brightest, they delivered with flying colors.Â
