Eagles News: AJ Brown takes charge, organizes team-building event ahead of playoff run
It’s no secret that Eagles WR AJ Brown is frustrated with his team’s performance in recent weeks.
After starting the season 10-1, the Eagles have lost four of their last five games (in embarrassing fashion) and are likely facing a road playoff game during Wild Card weekend.
The defense can’t stop a nosebleed regardless of who’s running it, and a once-explosive offense seemingly has no answers with just a week remaining in the regular season. Brown is stepping up in an effort to get everyone back on track.
Starting left tackle Jordan Mailata joined 94.1 WIP’s afternoon show on Tuesday and stated that the Pro Bowl wideout organized a team-wide escape room to help build camaraderie.
"We had a whole team, escape room thing just to build camaraderie… That was A.J. All this talk about A.J. not being leader…you guys don't know him like we do. He's a great leader."

Much has been made about Brown’s mentality as of late, with some speculating that his discontent is creating a fractured locker room. His teammates and coaches claim otherwise, however, noting that Brown is a team-first player despite how his emotions may be perceived online or through a broadcast.
The 26-year-old is putting together another stellar season but has cooled off over the last two months:
| First 8 games | Last 8 games | |
| Receptions | 60 | 45 |
| Yards | 939 | 508 |
| TDs | 5 | 2 |
| Record | 7-1 | 4-4 |
You could point to several reasons for the statistical decline: opposing defenses game-planning against him, lack of offensive innovation, disconnect between coaches and players. Whatever the case, Philadelphia has limited time to find a spark before the postseason — AJ Brown is doing his part.
Brown has understandably refused to speak with reporters the last two weeks but announced on Twitter that he will break his silence on Wednesday.
As for the Eagles, they’ll travel to MetLife this weekend for their regular season finale against the Giants, although it’s unclear how much the starters will play.
Sirianni on A.J. Brown: "When you have a dynamic playmaker like A.J., he's going to want the change the game at all times. And he's capable of doing that at all times. I don't want to speak for him — we're all frustrated."
