4 Phillies prospects crack MLB Pipeline Top 100 List

MLB Pipeline dropped their Top 100 prospects over the week and the Philadelphia Phillies have four players on the list.

Andrew Painter, Mick Abel, Aidan Miller, and Justin Crawford all cracked the Top 100 list.

Listen, we all know the narrative surrounding the Phillies Farm System and player development. It’s not great. The most prospects in recent memory that cracked the Top 100 list was (correct me if I’m wrong) in 2018, with Sixto Sanchez, Scott Kingery, JP Crawford, Adonis Medina, Mickey Moniak, and Adam Haseley.

Save your comments. We are all aware how each of them turned out and with the exception of Scott Kingery, none of them are with the Phillies organization. That doesn’t mean that all hope is lost heading into this season.

We all know what Andrew Painter is expected to be but we won’t actually be able to see if that turns out to be something worth celebrating until the 2025 season after the Phillies’ top prospect underwent Tommy John Surgery last Summer.

Phillies rankings in the MLB Top 100 Prospects List

  • RHP Andrew Painter (No. 27)
  • RHP Mick Abel (No. 49)
  • INF Aidan Miller (No. 61)
  • OF Justin Crawford (No. 77)

Note: Before the latest version of the Top 100, the Phillies had four prospects ranked — Painter (No. 28), Abel (No. 45), Crawford (No. 77) and Miller (No. 90).

Andrew Painter: The Phillies former first round draft pick is 6-2 in the minors with a 1.48 ERA and 167 strikeouts in 109.2 innings while walking just 25 batters.

Mick Abel: The Phillies are hoping that Abel will be major league ready this season. He made it to Triple-A Lehigh Valley last season and has posted a 14-20 record with a 4.09 ERA. Abel has a killer curveball and strikes out 11.1 hitters per nine innings.

Aidan Miller: Phillies first-round pick last summer. Played in 20 minor league games and posted a .303 batting average with Class-A Clearwater.

Carl Crawford: Phillies 2022 first round draft pick has played his way to High-A Jersey Shore and is lightning fast. He finished last season  slashing .332/.392/.467/.859 with three home runs and 64 RBI. He hit 22 doubles, eight triples and stole 47 bases in 87 games.
