PFF proposes Haason Reddick trade that fetches a second-round pick in 2024 NFL Draft
On Super Bowl Sunday, it was reported by numerous sources that the Philadelphia Eagles have granted Haason Reddick permission to seek a trade this offseason.
Reddick will be entering the final year of his three-year, $45 million deal he signed prior to the 2022 season. Reportedly, Reddick is seeking a deal that would see him make an average of $25M annually. Despite his elite production over the past two seasons in Philly, he’s going to turn 30 in September and his asking price is evidently way too high for the Eagles liking.
There’s bound to be several teams who call Howie Roseman about Reddick in the coming months. Per Pro Football Focus, one team to keep an eye on his the Houston Texans.
Houston vastly exceeded expectations in 2023, thanks in large part to the offensive and defensive rookies of the year, CJ Stroud and Will Anderson. Since they won’t have to pay either Stroud or Anderson for at least two more seasons, Houston’s front office will have more than enough capital to resign Reddick to whatever he wants.
PFF on a potential Haason Reddick trade to Houston:
“Teams looking for a smaller outside linebacker who can get upfield in a hurry and generate quick pressure with good bend around the edge will be calling Philadelphia, and will also probably look to extend Reddick as a part of the arrangement. If the Houston Texans cannot find a way to retain Jonathan Greenard in free agency, here they pivot to a pass-rush specialist to play opposite Will Anderson Jr.“

PFF predicts Haason Reddick would fetch the Eagles a second-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, No. 59 overall.
While I’m not a huge fan of letting Haason Reddick leave the building, I think we can all agree it would be better to get something for him now rather than letting him walk at the end of the next year. The team also invested a first-round pick in his replacement last year with Nolan Smith.
In regards to a potential return for Haason Reddick in a trade, a second-round pick sounds about right. And I think Howie, as he always does, is going to wait this out until he gets the best possible deal for the team.
