Eagles Buzz: Jordan Mailata says there’s ‘no shot’ Jason Kelce returns next season
With the NFL offseason in full swing now, Eagles fans are patiently waiting to hear whether Jason Kelce will return for his 14th season or not.
We’ve heard some rumblings that the Eagles center may return, most notably from his younger brother Travis, but one of Kelce’s fellow lineman, Jordan Mailata, doesn’t think there’s a chance in hell No. 62 comes back.
Speaking with NBC Sports’ John Clark, Mailata said he can’t see Kelce coming back, simply because the guy is having too much fun being retired.
The Eagles LT on why Jason Kelce won’t return next season
“There’s no shot,” Mailata said when asked if Kelce will return. “You’re telling me he’s going shirts off in the games, gambling in the casinos, he’s coming back? No way. He’s having too much fun. He’s out there living his life. And I’m going to miss him for sure, man. This has been the greatest six years of my life for sure, being here in the NFL and getting to meet people like Jason Kelce.”

Honestly, that’s pretty much exactly how I see the situation as well.
Kelce has been partying his ass off since the Eagles season ended. And while he is known for always having a good time, I can’t remember ever seeing Kelce party this hard. He’s just living his life and doing some of the stuff he could never do while playing. Can’t knock the guy for that, especially since he’s already solidified his status as a Hall of Fame player.
At this point, I’d be pretty shocked if Kelce decides to come back. But hey, anything is possible.
