Tobias Harris Arthur Embiid Snub

WATCH: Arthur Embiid snubs Tobias Harris, immediately high-fives Tyrese Maxey ahead of Sixers-Bucks game on Sunday

Before Sunday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Joel Embiid was standing courtside with his son, Arthur and were greeted by Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey, and other Sixers’ teammates.

Of course, social media went crazy with this video.

Tobias Harris went over to greet Embiid and when he looked to Arthur, he was snubbed from a receiving a high-five as Embiid’s son already had his eyes on the only current shining star of the Philadelphia 76ers, Tyrese Maxey.

Maxey then walks into the video and immediately gets a high-five from Arthur, which perfectly describes 76ers’ fans and how they feel about this basketball team without Joel Embiid in the lineup.

Against the Knicks last Thursday, Tobias Harris went 3-of-9 from the floor and 1-of-3 from three point range, scoring 7-points in 27 minutes of action.

On Friday against the Cavaliers (minus Donovan Mitchell), Harris scored 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the floor.

Not horrible against the Cavs but his lack of consistency has always been an issue. When Embiid isn’t on the floor, you’re expecting the other max contract player on the team to step up and help carry the load

Instead, Harris went 3-of-11 from the floor against the Bucks and 0-for-3 from beyond the arc in an 8-point effort while playing 31 minutes.

So yeah, the Sixers are now 1-2 since returning from the All-Star Break and just got destroyed by the Bucks on Sunday

Tonight, they’ll be in Boston to face the Celtics on the road. Great…

The Sixers are 3-7 over their last 10 games and currently sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference Standings at 33-24 with just a game advantage on both the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers.

This season, the Sixers have posted a miserable 7-16 record without Joel Embiid in the lineup.

Joel Embiid Injury Update

Last week, Joel Embiid attended team practice and the organization remains optimistic about his return before the playoffs. That’s positive news and dare I say, could set up the Sixers with a healthy Embiid come playoff time – something that as we all know, rarely happens.

Assuming Embiid’s rehab is going well and he’s on the typical recovery timeline for a lateral torn meniscus, that would bring him back to the Sixers lineup with roughly seven games in the regular season.

That being said, it’s hard to ignore the fact that those six-seven games could be extremely important in getting the motor running again so Embiid is in perfect “game shape” for the first round of the playoffs.

Plus, Brian Windhorst had this to say in regards to Joel Embiid this morning on ESPN…

“Actions over words, I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face, the Sixers don’t make that Buddy Hield deal, a guy who’s a free agent, basically a rented player potentially, unless they believe Embiid comes back, and unless they believe they can make a deep playoff run.”

Almost sounds too good to be true, right?
