According to reports, the Philadelphia Eagles are signing running back Saquon Barkley to a three-year, $37.75 million contract.

Barkley’s deal with the Eagles can be worth up to $46.75 million with $26 million guaranteed. As Schefty mentioned, Barkley now beats the franchise tag number and has a maximum average-per-year salary of $15.83 million, which would be second highest for a RB in NFL History.

The now 27-year old Barkley was the second-overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft – hailing from Penn State University.
In six seasons with the New York Giants, Barkley was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, amassing 5,211 rushing yards and 47 total touchdowns. He will be replacing D’Andre Swift, who is expected to sign with the Chicago Bears.
Barkley should FEAT in the Eagles new-look offense. While fans are commonly chanting “run the ball” the last two Eagles’ lead-running backs finished Top 5 in rushing.
