Tyrese Maxey set to return from 4-game absence tomorrow night against the New York Knicks
Tyrese Maxey has cleared concussion protocol and is set to return for the Philadelphia 76ers’ game tomorrow against the New York Knicks according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Maxey has missed four consecutive games while being in concussion protocol after banging his head into Derrick Jones Jr.’s knee during Philadelphia’s game against the Dallas Mavericks last week.
Maxey immediately went to the locker room following the collision and was available to play the rest of the game via Lauren Rosen of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Heading into last Tuesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, Tyrese Maxey was ruled out and placed into concussion protocol after experiencing concussion-like symptoms.
Over the past few days, Maxey worked out before games and after practices and even made the trip with the 76ers to New York for last night’s game against the New York Knicks – but was unable to pass protocol.

The 76ers went 1-3 during Maxey’s concussion recovery, including two losses to the Brooklyn Nets and Memphis Grizzlies where Philadelphia had double-digit leads.
Tyrese Maxey’s return to action is vital as the 76ers at 36-28 with a 0.5-game possession of the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference are fighting to stay out of the play-in tournament amid Joel Embiid’s absence due to a left meniscus procedure.
