Jose Alvarado says he feels “like a fat boy” in incredible Spring Training interview

Jose Alvarado may have just singlehandedly saved the mid-game dugout interview. In a conversation with the Phillies broadcast crew, Alvarado discussed his level of physical conditioning and his own self-image.

Jose Alvarado did not mince words, saying he’s “fucking fat”:

In all honesty, we all feel that way sometimes, brother. You may be rotund, but you’ve got a heater that just won’t quit. I’d gladly tack on an extra 50 lbs if I could throw 100+ mph at a major league level.

The Hefty Lefty could probably lose the weight if he wanted to, but why would he? That Fat Boy Magic is a real thing. Just keep housing arepas and making batters swing and miss and you’re bound to keep having a blast.

I’m not even sure what the conversation was that led up to it; I’ve just been watching it pretty much on repeat, laughing harder every time.

All I know is that he is the grizzly bear. I’ll never forget that.
