NFL Draft: Eagles expected to host electric Texas A&M receiver on Top 30 visit

As we get closer to the NFL draft, more rumors run rampant — especially about the Philadelphia Eagles and their ever-active GM Howie Roseman.

Considering all the moves that have been made this offseason, the Eagles could really go a lot of different ways early on in this draft.

With that said, I would be shocked if one of the first two picks would be on a wide receiver. However, this draft class is loaded with talent and Philly may try and pounce a little bit earlier than expected.

It’s worth noting that Eagles WR coach Aaron Moorehead was in attendance to watch Ainias Smith at Texas A&M’s pro day. Before I dive into the talent and fit here, It’s worth noting that Smith is currently projected to be selected in rounds 3-5 in most mock drafts.

The intrigue here is obviously the versatility and ability. Ainias is very elusive and quick in small areas and has experience at WR, RB, and both punt and kick returner. These are all great traits for such a young player in the modern NFL. The fit with the Eagles is like a glove because he could play his way into the WR #3 spot and get some looks in special teams. Not to mention he excels in the slot.

With the DeVonta Smith extension looming, it only makes more sense for the Eagles to look at the draft to fill out the rest of the position group. I’d also imagine Philadelphia would be such an attractive landing spot for any young receiver to come in and learn behind both AJ Brown and Smitty.
