Eagles select star tight end in ESPN’s latest mock draft
We’re officially less than a month away from the 2024 NFL Draft as the Eagles look to continue their busy offseason.
Philadelphia handed a big-money contract to Saquon Barkley and signed speedy WR Parris Campbell during free agency, adding more firepower to an offense that lacked innovation last year.
The Eagles could bolster their passing attack even further in April’s draft.
In ESPN’s latest mock draft, Mike Tannenbaum has Philadelphia selecting Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers:
22. Philadelphia Eagles
Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia
“Could you imagine a personnel grouping of Bowers, Saquon Barkley, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert with a healthy Jalen Hurts under center?
Bowers had 2,538 receiving yards and 26 receiving TDs over three seasons, and he would give coach Nick Sirianni and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore matchup advantages. He has to improve his blocking, but I believe that will happen in time.
I also thought about a defensive back here — Philly’s back seven remains a concern even with the additions of Devin White and C.J. Gardner-Johnson — but Bowers is just too good to skip over this late in Round 1.”
The Eagles currently have Dallas Goedert, who turned 29 in January, as their established TE1. Philly drafted Goedert in 2019 when Ertz was 28 and could follow a similar blueprint here.
Bowers is widely regarded as the most talented tight-end prospect in recent memory (perhaps ever). If he’s somehow available at No. 22, the Eagles should sprint to the podium regardless of other positional needs.
You might as well load up on offense since defenders aren’t allowed to tackle anymore.

Prolific pass-catching tight end with a rare blend of acceleration, speed, body control and hands that could breathe new life into a stale NFL offense. Bowers was a high-volume target at Georgia and led the team in receiving yards in all three of his college seasons.
It might take a year for him to acclimate to defenders who are bigger, faster and longer, but he appears destined to become a highly productive NFL player with Pro Bowl upside.
