Report: Eagles trade Haason Reddick for conditional 2026 draft pick

A deal for Haason Reddick has finally culminated.

Per multiple reports, the Eagles are trading Reddick to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round pick.

The third-rounder can become a second-round selection if trade parameters are met (67.5% playtime this season and has 10+ sacks next season).

Reddick signed a three-year, $45M deal with Philadelphia in 2022 and quickly outplayed that contract, compiling 27 sacks in two seasons with the Eagles.

Sack leaders over the last five years

  • TJ Watt – 76.5
  • Myles Garrett – 68
  • Trey Hendrickson – 57.5
  • Nick Bosa – 53.5
  • Maxx Crosby – 52
  • Haason Reddick – 51.5
  • Aaron Donald – 51.5
  • Chris Jones – 51.5

Reddick’s desire for an extension heading into a contract year was well-documented, and the Eagles weren’t comfortable paying top salary for a player who turns 30 in September. As a result, they permitted him to seek a trade elsewhere.

One could call it a bitter end for Reddick’s tenure in Philadelphia. His team came up just short of beating Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 57. Disjointed coaching had him playing in coverage, contributing to the Eagles’ 2023 collapse.

In totality, this was a sensible resolution for both sides.

The Eagles essentially traded Reddick for rising pass-rusher Bryce Huff and a future third-round pick. Reddick will get the lucrative deal he deserves while playing alongside Jermaine Johnson, Javon Kinlaw, and Quinnen Williams.
