Report: Eagles sign veteran tight end to one-year deal
Free agent TE CJ Uzomah is going from one shade of green to another in 2024.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Uzomah has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Eagles.
FA TE CJ Uzomah, the former #Bengals and #Jets starter, is expected to sign a one-year deal with the #Eagles, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Uzomah, who flew to Philly today and passed his physical, should bolster their passing attack and give the offense an added weapon. pic.twitter.com/vgz3AVQzZm

Uzomah, 31, played in Cincinatti for seven seasons before spending the last two years with the Jets.
His most productive season came in 2021 when the Bengals made the Super Bowl. Uzomah caught 49 passes from Joe Burrow that season for 493 yards and five touchdowns.
Uzomah signed a three-year, $24M deal with New York the following offseason but eventually lost snaps to fellow tight end Tyler Conklin and finished the 2023 season on IR with an MCL injury.
With Jack Stoll leaving in free agency, Uzomah will compete with Grant Calcaterra and Albert Okwuegbunam for the backup role in training camp.
