Eagles coach Nick Sirianni discusses keeping weapons happy, takes to Instagram

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni will have a very important task set ahead of him this year, regardless of him being stripped of play-calling duties.

He is famously known for his “core values,” one of those being keeping everyone happy as Phase One of the offseason program begins on April 15th.

Another weapon was added to his arsenal in Saquon Barkley this offseason, and the Eagles certainly have quite a bit of mouths to feed.

Nick Sirianni takes to Instagram

I don’t know about you, but I had no clue Sirianni had an Instagram page. So much is made of what could potentially be going on inside the heads of athletes and coaches in this city, so I think it’s worth noting one of the pictures he posted was with Jalen Hurts. Take that however you want.

Heading into the beginning of the Eagles offseason program, Sirianni had the opportunity to field some questions.

“I always think that’s a really good problem to have is to have multiple weapons because the defense has to stop all those guys,” he said, “but what’s really important is to build that, the connection of this team.

When you have all these different talents when you walk in the door, and this individual is really good, this individual is really good, this individual is really good, you want to be able to spread the ball around to them.”

I thought something very notable that Sirianni highlighted was that in AJ Brown’s first game with the Eagles, he had a huge day as he was targeted 13 times and had 10 catches for 155 yards. Meanwhile, DeVonta Smith finished with zero catches in that game.

“When something like that happens, because inevitably it will, you don’t go in with the assumption that it’s going to happen ever, but sometimes it does, and everyone’s happy for each other, and we get in the locker room because we won the football game, and everyone’s pumped up,” said Sirianni. That’s something you have to work on.

The Eagles head coach seems like a very polarizing name in the city, as some people love him and others even hate him. But at the end of the day, he will at least have this season ahead of him to reprove himself.

One of the biggest arguments against the young coach is he’s been around a lot of talent. I totally understand that, but at the same time, it’s a big task to manage all the different talents and egos in the locker room.
