Eagles to host Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry on Top-30 visit
With the NFL Draft right around the corner, the Philadelphia Eagles are finalizing their pre-draft top-30 visits. On Thursday, it was reported by Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz that Alabama star cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry will be visiting Philly within the next week or so.
McKinstry is a consensus top-five corner prospect in the upcoming draft and would obviously be a huge get for the Birds.

Along with visiting the Eagles, McKinstry also has scheduled visits with the Giants and Falcons.
He may not be a freak athletically, but you’d be hard pressed to a find a smarter cornerback in this draft class than Kool-Aid. He started as a true freshman in Nick Saban’s defense and he only got better as his collegiate career went on.
Here’s Pro Football Focus‘ scouting profile on the Alabama standout:
How smart and talented is McKinstry? He started as a true freshman in a Nick Saban defense. At 6-foot-1, he has good size and length to match up on the outside against bigger receivers. He is very comfortable and experienced in pressman coverage and also has a good feel for spacing in zone. He has an uncanny knack for making plays on the ball despite being in trail technique and not having his eyes toward the pocket.
McKinstry’s best attribute is his demeanor. He never seems panicked — in any facet of play. He is a good athlete but not an elite one for the NFL level when it comes to stopand-start ability. He is not as twitchy as he is smooth.
McKinstry figures to go in the first-round, right in that 15-25 range where the Eagles are selecting.
