WATCH: Cristian Pache hits first career walk-off in 10th inning, gets himself and interpreter drenched during post-game
What a night for Cristian Pache. The Phillies youngster stepped to the plate to pinch hit for Kyle Schwarber with a runner on third in the 10th inning and did not disappoint.
Cristian Pache delivered the win with a quality at-bat:

Not only was that his first career walk-off, it was also his second hit of the season. It was a super professional AB at that. No frills, nothing crazy, just put the barrel on the baseball and go the other way to bring home the runner.
Textbook from the kid. Absolutely textbook.
There’s a lot to love about this moment beyond it just being the winning play. Jeff Hoffman put his body on the line to save a run at home the inning prior. Plus, Brandon Marsh going bananas immediately and rushing out to meet Cristian Pache was awesome to see.
John Kruk saw walk-off written all over this plate appearance as well. Just a great sequence of baseball all around.
Of course, Marsh and Bryson Stott assumed their duty as resident water boys, dumping water on Cristian Pache and putting the cooler over his interpreter’s head.

It’s great to see the whole team, and Marsh especially, excited for Pache. Despite the offense struggling to start the year, the vibes are in a good spot.
Is it great that the team needed a walk-off in extra innings against the lowly Colorado Rockies? Not at all. But it’s early doors in a long season. As long as the vibes stay high, the Phillies’ rise to dominance will be nothing short of inevitable.
If anyone is freaking out about the Phillies in April, calm the hell down. The season doesn’t start until June 1. If they’re around .500 with a completely anemic offense, they’re going to be just fine once things warm up and balls start leaving the park.
And who knows? Maybe we’ll see some more fireworks out of Pache this season. Something tells me we will.
