Jimmy Butler issues a warning to NBA teams ahead of Sixers-Heat Play-in Game
It’s official: Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat will travel to Philadelphia to face the Sixers in an NBA Play-in game.
This matchup speaks for itself, as Joel Embiid will be seeking revenge for the postseason exit he suffered at the hands of the Heat just a few years ago. While this is billed as a “play-in” game, it certainly feels like a much bigger face-off, as both teams realistically could make a deep push in the Eastern Conference.
With that said Jimmy Butler interviewed for Slam magazine, in which he had a message for teams facing the Heat in the playoffs.
"People really gotta think about going up against the Miami Heat and myself. I know what I’m capable of. I know what my squad is capable of. Nobody wants to see us in a 7-game series.”

It’s funny you say that, Jimmy. If the Sixers beat you Wednesday night, you will be stuck in a win-or-go-home situation against the Bulls and Hawks matchup. So, technically, the Heat could be at risk of playing zero playoff series. While it seems unlikely because Miami is a better team than Atlanta or Chicago, you never know in single-game elimination scenarios.
Aside from Jimmy Butler departing the Sixers and having a well-known friendship with Joel Embiid, there’s been so much more fuel added to the fire here.

While I haven’t been the biggest fan of some of the new implementations by the commissioner of the NBA, I suppose matchups like this one are more than ideal for the play-game. So, get your popcorn ready; this Sixers vs. Heat matchup on Wednesday night should be entertaining.
