Report: Eagles looking to trade up in NFL Draft to snag stand out Toledo cornerback
The 2024 NFL Draft is a little over 24 hours away and the Philadelphia Eagles potential draft night plans are starting to become more clear.
We heard earlier this week that Howie Roseman was making calls around the league for a potential trade up in the first-round, something the Eagles GM has made a living on. On Tuesday, SportsKeeda’s Tony Pauline revealed more about the initial report, putting a name to the potential trade partner and a face to the potential target.
Per Pauline, the Eagles are in talks with the Denver Broncos for the 12th overall selection and their desired target is stand out Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

A potential trade between these two sides makes sense for both parties. The Eagles are in win-now mode and desperately need to solidify their secondary — both in the short and long-term. Denver is rebuilding and has moved on from almost all of their notable players this offseason. And because of the Russell Wilson trade two years ago, they’re lacking the draft capital required to have a successful rebuild.
Quinyon Mitchell has steadily rose through the ranks during the lead up to the NFL Draft, putting up outstanding numbers at the scouting combine and locking down his opposition during the Senior Bowl.
Whether the Eagles end up with Mitchell or not, one thing is clear — Howie wants to bring in secondary help. At this point, I’d be surprised if the Eagles went with any other position in the first-round.
