Sound the alarms. Philadelphia Phillies prospect Gabriel Rincones Jr. sent an absolute NUKE out of the ballpark on Wednesday that traveled over 500 FEET in Reading.

Gabriel Rincones Jr. Home Run

Gabriel Rincones Jr. was a Round 3 draft pick (93) by the Phillies in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Florida Atlantic. In 50 at-bats this season with the Reading Fightin’ Phils, he’s batting .300 with a 1.017 OPS. Rincones has four home runs and five RBI to go along with 15 hits and four stolen bases in 50 at-bats.

This freak is just 23 years old, standing at 6’3” and weighs 225 pounds. He’s an outfielder and can cover a shit ton of ground in right field.

Gabriel Rincones Jr. can play right field confirmed

I mean honestly, he should be starting right now as the Phillies try to even the four game series against the Reds out in Cincy. Not sure if you’re aware but Nick Castellanos is still in “swing through it” mode and at this point, I’m not sure it’s ever going to end.

Nick…this is bad

Castellanos is batting .174 with a .428 OPS. In 92 at-bats this season, he has 16 hits and seven RBI. Nick has yet to hit a home run this season and has an OBP of just .232 while he slugs a miserable .200.

Of course, I’m not seriously suggesting that Nick Castellanos loses his job to a prospect like Rincones but god damn was that home run a thing of beauty. It’s something we’ve been missing in the Phillies’ outfield all season.

Zack Wheeler currently on the mound for the Phillies looking to restore order to the realm after two straight losses. Bryce Harper is also back from paternity leave – so let’s hope he gets going too.

Spencer Turnbull remains elite in final rotation start, bullpen blows it in 7-4 loss to the Reds
