Tom Thibodeau cried to the media about officials last night, demands clarity, but was singing a different tune after Game 2
New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau was unhappy with officials last night after his team got bullied by Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3 last night, 125-114.
The 76ers grabbed their first win of the series against the Knicks as Joel Embiid dropped 50 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Embiid shot 13-19 from the floor, 5-7 from beyond the arc, and 19-21 from the charity stripe.
JOEL EMBIID 50 PTS | 8 REBS | 5 3PM
He did all of that, basically playing on one leg with a mild case of Bell’s Palsy – while also becoming the New York Knicks worst nightmare on the court.
Embiid picked up a flagrant foul after he was basically thrown to the ground under the basket and while trying to protect himself from Mitchell Robinson landing on him, he grabbed the Knicks backup center in the process.
Joel Embiid issued Flagrant 1
Thibs was asked about that play specifically in his postgame press conference and he responded by saying “Which one? The one [the referees] called, or the one they didn’t call? Just want to make sure we have clarity on that.”
Tom Thibodeau Crying About Game 3 Officials
Well Tom Thibodeau, luckily for you, we will get some “clarity” on that when the NBA releases the L2M Report today. We all read it together after Game 2 and everyone, including the officials, came to the conclusion that the New York Knicks should have been called for two missed fouls in the last 30 seconds of the game and Nick Nurse should have been granted a timeout.
That’s the clarity we need!
Well wait a damn minute. Thibs isn’t a fan of the NBA’s Last 2 Minute Report. He just wants to focus on the 46-minute report. So what changed?
Ah. That’s right. It’s perfectly fine when you have the officials in your back pocket but when there’s a chance to issue Joel Embiid a Flagrant 2 so there would be a slight chance the Knicks could win the basketball game.
Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks are total clowns.
Go Figure, Thibodeau is a French name. I tried to warn everyone about the French earlier this week and nobody wanted to listen.
It’s so funny that during the first two games in Madison Square Garden, Knicks fans and the national media were PRAISING their aggressive “bully ball” style of basketball but the second someone punches back they cry like little boys.
And yes, when I say it’s funny – I mean it’s pathetic and embarrassing.
Oh and not to mention, it’s not like Embiid was trying to hurt Robinson or anyone out there, he was simply trying to protect himself. 🙂
