AJ Brown says he wants to retire as an Eagle, once again making offseason trade rumors look ridiculous

For the vast majority of the offseason, national and local media members spread lies about Eagles WR AJ Brown. Saying he wanted out of Philly, that he and Jalen Hurts’ relationship had soured, the list goes on.

These people propagated these rumors so much, that fans actually thought there was a chance Brown would get traded. There was never an ounce of truth to any of it, but pundits like Dan Sileo and nearly every host on 94WIP continued to push the narrative. In reality, AJ Brown just doesn’t like the media — especially the Philly media. I don’t like them either, so I get it.

Because Brown refused to speak to the media during the latter half of the 2023 season, they all jumped to the conclusion that he must want out (which doesn’t make any sense when you think about it for more than 2 minutes). It never crossed their minds that maybe, he was just tired of being misrepresented by local pundits.

Once the drama finally started to dissipate, AJ Brown signed a three-year extension with the Eagles, making him the highest paid wideout in NFL history. He officially signed the extension on Tuesday and made sure every Eagles fan knew exactly how he felt about being in Philadelphia.

AJ Brown: “When I hang the cleats up, it’s going to be in that uniform right there”

The whole ‘AJ Brown trade’ discussion never made any sense. Even for the biggest football conspiracy theorists, there was no evidence suggesting an AJ Brown trade would be on the horizon. It was journalistic malpractice for the ‘journalists’ in this city to ever hint at the possibility of it happening. Sadly, this type of sports reporting is what gets clicks. And in turn, gets these bozos paid.

We’ll inevitably see another rumor with no substance rear its ugly head again. I’m just glad this time, we’re getting definitive closure. AJ Brown isn’t going anywhere. That’s all that matters in the end.
