Jason Kelce accuses Secretariat of steroid use on ‘New Heights’
Churchill Downs hosted the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby last weekend, with Mystik Dan winning in an extremely tight photo finish. It also marked yet another year with Secretariat’s speed record remaining intact, something former Eagle and current podcast host Jason Kelce seems to have taken issue with.
Jason Kelce let it be known he firmly believes Secretariat was “juiced to the gills”:
Jason is very passionate about his take that Secretariat is a juicer 😂 https://t.co/7kSMXbkuqi pic.twitter.com/SL7ufjgATj

In case you thought he was just blowing smoke for clicks, it’s clear he truly believes this. This isn’t just his opinion, though; he’s done the research to back it up.
Just going to put this out there, you know who else has enlarged hearts. People who take copious amounts of steroids. I’ll admit I don’t know whether Secretariat was on steroids or not, it’s impossible to know, because in 1973 when Secretariat won the triple crown there was not… https://t.co/QClbJKSkzD

He also caught the attention of an alleged medical chemist on Twitter, who came through with some further information. This has become a pretty compelling case from what I can see here.
A heart that size would be hard to justify in the absence of anabolic steroids. The difference btwn horses of that era and bullpens of modern juicing provenance, is that horses don't need 'corked hooves' to run like the wind.

Drug testing was in its infancy during the 1970s.…
I mean, when you start referencing East Germany, not only am I 100% locked into what you’re saying, but I also know that you’re 100% right.
How wild was that by the way? There were two Germanies for, like, a while. But I digress.
Is it wrong to accuse Secretariat of steroid use 50 years later? Maybe. But when you come up with this well-researched point, I have to at least give you the benefit of the doubt.
He’s also Jason Kelce. So, his word is law as far as I’m concerned.
