WATCH: Luka Doncic hits dagger to give Dallas a 2-0 series lead over the Minnesota, took Rudy Gobert and the T-Wolves’ souls in the process

The Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals 109-108 thanks to a dagger from Luka Doncic with just three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. 

Doncic drilled a go-ahead three-pointer with just three seconds left on the clock over T-Wolves’ center Rudy Gobert.

Following the bucket, Luka immediately turned to Gobert and started screaming at him like a complete psychopath, telling the NBA Defensive Player of the Year that he’s a “motherfucker” and “can’t fucking guard him”.

Hitting a dagger with 3 seconds left on the clock to take a 2-0 series lead back to Dallas in the Western Conference Finals. I know you’ve all heard of “Luka Magic” but that’s next level.

Why Rudy Gobert was even on the perimeter trying to play defense on Luka to begin with is certainly a valid question. Regardless of how many DPOY trophies you have at home, that’s a tough matchup for anyone.

Luka Doncic taking a step-back three on that play wasn’t only unstoppable, it was inevitable. Gobert had ONE JOB to run Luka off the line but clearly, that didn’t happen. Instead, Luka hits a dagger and then treats him like complete trash as he walks backwards down the court. Brutal.

I couldn’t even imagine Luka Doncic drilling a go-ahead three in my face to go up 2-0 in the series only to then be completely emasculated by him as he walks down the court while a sold out crowd at the Target Center in Minneapolis watches on in disbelief. Gobert didn’t even turn to acknowledge him. Whether that’s soft or appropriate given the fact that there was still time on the clock is certainly up for debate.

Just a bad ending for Rudy Gobert and the T-Wolves. The dagger from Luka Doncic could serve as the final nail in the coffin for Minnesota who at one point, led last night’s game by 18 points before choking it all away in the fourth quarter. 

Doncic finished Game 2 with 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 12 assists on 10-of-23 shooting from the field. 

Minnesota did have a final shot from Naz Reid roll off the time as time expired, but the end result was Luka ripping the heart and souls out of every T-Wolves fan and Rudy Gobert who witnessed the dagger.
