Juan Soto Definitely Harper

WATCH: Yankees outfielder Juan Soto gives surprising ‘Bryce Harper’ answer during ESPN Sunday Night Baseball in-game interview

Juan Soto somehow stole the headlines from Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas after the two opposing baseball players delivered absolute gold during ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball in-game interviews.

When asked on what teammate, former or present, impressed him the most by the sound of the baseball leaving their bat with the options being his current teammates Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton along with Phillies’ first baseman Bryce Harper, Juan Soto confidently answered “Defintiely Harper”.

Question: “You played with Harper, Judge, and Stanton. Who has wow’d you the most with the sound of the ball makes off their bat?”

Juan Soto Answer: “Definitely Harper.”

Juan Soto: Definitely [Bryce] Harper

Honestly, I have no idea why Juan Soto wouldn’t just name his teammate, Aaron Judge, and be done with the question. For whatever reason, he went full Demon Time and said that Bryce Harper was the teammate that wow’d him the most with the sound of the baseball and his bat.

Honestly, it wasn’t even a hard answer. He literally said “Definitely Harper”.

Just when everyone thought that Triston Casas’ wild story about his father would make headlines during Sunday Night Baseball, Juan Soto delivered the most eye-popping answer, at least here in Philadelphia, just an inning prior.

Juan Soto is on the final year of his contract and will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2024 MLB season.

This year, he’s batting .315 with 18 home runs, 55 RBI, and a dominant 1.025 OPS. The Yankees are one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, posting a 50-24 record while leading the American League East by 1.5 games over the Baltimore Orioles.

Needless to say, the 25-year old outfielder is expected to sign a historic contract with either the Yankees or another team that can afford him in the very near future.

Soto is currently looking for a massive new contract and reports indicate that it could be in the range of 13-years, $500 million.

Maybe when the Phillies beat the Yankees in the 2024 World Series, Soto will travel down the New Jersey Turnpike and join Harper in Philadelphia?

Seems unlikely given the fact that the New York Yankees have a massive payroll to keep Soto in blue pinstripes for the rest of his career but right now, we’ll hold onto the dream of Soto playing outfield at Citizens Bank Park next season and beyond.
