PFF ranks Eagles WR corps as a Top-3 unit in the NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best wide receiving corps in the NFL. This is common knowledge at this point and Pro Football Focus is recognizing it as well.
In their latest ranking of all 32 WR corps across the league, the Eagles landed at third, behind only the Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.
PFF on the Eagles Top-3 receiving group:
A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith form one of the top wide receiver duos in the league. Over the past two years, Brown has earned an elite 91.2 receiving grade and Smith has earned an 81.7 mark.
Tight end Dallas Goedert is also a factor with a 78.2 receiving grade and six touchdowns since 2022. The Eagles then added running back Saquon Barkley this offseason to round out a very strong receiving corps.
Not sure I agree with the Niners placement ahead of the Eagles. Partially because I’m an avid San Francisco hater, but also because they might lose Brandon Aiyuk before the season starts. He wants a new contract and it doesn’t seem like San Fran is budging on their end. Wouldn’t be shocked if he ends up elsewhere before training camp gets underway.
Back to the Birds, their top-two duo of AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league. The only question is who will step up into that WR3 role — or if they’ll even need any major contributions from that spot given all their offensive talent.
The team could roll with a committee there, mixing in guys like John Ross, Ainias Smith, and Parris Campbell. We’ll get a clearer picture on that once camp rolls around.
