Twitter users pitch hilarious nicknames for new Eagles all-white DB duo
The Eagles’ social media accounts dropped a photo of safety Reed Blankenship and rookie CB Cooper DeJean on Friday, and it’s a sight to behold.

As you can imagine, the jokes started flying, and it made me wonder what fans would nickname the Caucasian duo if allowed.
So I asked Twitter — and the answers didn’t disappoint. I’m personally going with ‘The Milky Way.’ Here are some of the best entries:

These are hysterical—I’ll say ‘Secondairy’ wins for now. Let me also follow up by saying the replies aren’t intended to be racist in any way; this is just a fun way to embrace two players the fans are clearly excited about.
After going undrafted in 2022, Reed Blankenship quickly grew into a consistent contributor on defense, appearing in ten games for the Eagles during his rookie season. He’s expected to start alongside CJ Gardner-Johnson at safety next season.

Cooper DeJean, widely considered a first-round talent, fell to the second round, and the Eagles gladly traded up to select him at No. 40 overall.
“When you talk about Cooper, Cooper’s a playmaker,” GM Howiese Roseman said following the draft. “I think that, at the end of the day, football instincts, any sort of instincts are huge, and he’s got elite instincts.
Wherever you put him, he is a playmaker, he has a nose for the ball, you’ve seen him do it in clutch moments, obviously saw what he did in the Minnesota game.
We thought this guy was a culture guy, we thought this guy has a chance to be an elite player in this league, just like we did our first-round pick. We were aggressive there in the second round to try to bring him to Philadelphia.”
