Disgusting Behavior: Howard Eskin barred from Citizens Bank Park following unwanted advance toward an Aramark employee
In case you missed the report from the Philadelphia Inquirer last night, Howard Eskin has been barred from Citizens Bank Park following an incident in May where he made an “unwanted advance” towards an Aramark employee in the CP Rankin Club, formerly known as the Diamond Club.
Ximena Conde at the Philadelphia Inquirer:
Howard Eskin, the longtime Philadelphia broadcaster, has been barred from Citizens Bank Park for the remainder of the Phillies season after an investigation found he made an unwanted advance toward a femaleAramark employee in May.
According to sources, an Aramark employee accused the 73-year-old Eskin of giving her an unwanted kiss at the ballpark, which resulted in an investigation. A spokesperson for Audacy, the parent company of WIP-FM and Eskin’s employer, confirmed the “unwelcome kiss” in a statement, adding the company takes these matters very seriously.
“We immediately investigated and took action to address the matter,” read the Audacy spokesperson’s statement, declining to comment further.
Eskin will remain on air, according to sources. Phone calls to Eskin were not immediately returned.
Shocker: Howard Eskin proves yet again that he’s a total scumbag
Howard Eskin claims to be a Philadelphia Sports reporter but instead, is up in the Diamond Club hitting on Aramark Employees?
Color me surprised. I could guessed that was happening long before the report dropped yesterday. I do have a few questions though. How are we just learning about this in early-July when the incident happened back in May?
Seems like an important one to answer given the fact that Audacy, the parent company of 94.1 WIP and Howard Eskins’ employer, completely botched their handling of the entire incident.
Audacy taking action by not doing anything:
A spokesperson for Audacy, the parent company of WIP-FM and Eskin’s employer, confirmed the “unwelcome kiss” in a statement, adding that the company takes these matters very seriously.
“We immediately investigated and took action to address the matter,” read the statement from the Audacy spokesperson, who declined to comment further. [Inky]
Hell of a statement, Audacy.
Really great work on issuing a statement saying that you take incidents like Howard Eskin being a total creep “very seriously” while assuring everyone that you have taken appropriate actions to “address the matter” while also allowing Howard Eskin to appear on your radio station without ever addressing this for the past what, two months?
Howard Eskin continues vomit all over the 94.1 WIP airwaves throughout the week as a “guest” on the other WIP shows and even has his own show for two hours on Saturday mornings. Maybe it’s just me but that doesn’t seem like anything was actually done to “address the situation” outside of quietly barring Eskin from Citizens Bank Park.
Talk about a missed opportunity to take out the trash.
Why anyone at Audacy would think for a second that Philly sports fans want Howard Eskin on the radio to begin with is beyond me. He is literally a washed-up 73-year old cornball that no one takes seriously.
This was Audacy’s perfect opportunity to finally fire Howard Eskin but instead they allow him to remain on radio? That’s just unprofessional and honestly, disgusting behavior from the company that owns and operates the number one Philly sports talk radio station in the city.
If any other employee did this at any other company, they would be fired immediately.
Eskin must know where the dead bodies are hidden because this seemed like the perfect opportunity to send him into retirement. Hopefully the final result is too much heat as a result of the Inky article and Philly will finally be free from Howard Eskin once and for all.
Good riddance.
