WATCH: Paul George reveals why he chose to wear No. 8 for the 76ers
Now that Paul George is officially a Philadelphia 76er, the team revealed he’ll be wearing No. 8.
For non-athletes, the number may not seem that important, but for those who play the game, deciding which number to rock is a big decision. If you feel comfortable with your number, you’re just going to play better. It’s simple math, really.
Paul George and his team have been teasing the newest episode of his podcast, “Podcast P,” all over social media. In the clip they’ve been promoting, PG revealed why he went with No. 8.
Paul George on his number decision
“I’m in Philly. My idol, Kobe Bryant. It’s my way of idolizing Kob. It’s something that meant something outside of 24 and 13, so it was only right.”
Of the numbers PG could’ve went with here in Philly, eight is definitely the best choice. Not only because of the Kobe reference, it just looks good on him.
