Nick Castellanos' Paul George jersey

Nick Castellanos honors Philly’s new No. 8 Paul George by taping over his own custom basketball jersey

The Phillies handed out some sweet Nick Castellanos basketball jerseys to fans 14 and under attending the game against the Dodgers. Casty made a modification to his to honor the 76ers’ newest free agent signing.

Nick Castellanos showed some love to Paul George, Philly’s newest No. 8, in typical Philadelphia fashion, taping over his last name and writing in “George” instead:

This was, of course, a much more, well, normal way to welcome a fellow No. 8 to the city than how C.J. Gardner Johnson chose to.

Of course, Castellanos isn’t the only Phillie excited for Paul George to come to the City of Brotherly Love. Bryce Harper said he’s “pumped” for PG’s arrival in the star-studded city of Philadelphia.

It’s a small gesture, but it’s always cool to see Philly athletes from different teams show love to one another. I like the idea of the guys that wear the same number being homies.

CJ Gardner Johnson, Nick Castellanos, Paul George, and *checks notes* Cam York getting together to chill would be something to behold. I think the first three could find some common ground, but I don’t know how York would fit into the vibe. I’m sure he could hold his own, but it’s a funny mental picture.

The whole team was rocking the commemorative Casty jerseys during batting practice. Considering they were for fans 14 and under, some were a bit tighter than others, but the boys were moving clean before first pitch.

Honestly, I probably would have left work early to go to this game if they were giving them to adults, too. I maybe could have gotten one. I may be 26 years old, but I’m hardly an adult. One of my friends has a house with a guest room.

There’s a chance CBP staff could have taken pity on me. If all else failed, I could’ve tried the Benchwarmers birth certificate trick. If it worked then, it could work now.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
