Jaylen Brown gets caught saying Bronny James sucks, immediately walks it back on Twitter

For as much as I hate the Boston Celtics, I have a soft spot for Jaylen Brown. He’s not a cornball like Jayson Tatum and he always tells it like it is. And sometimes, that can get you in trouble.

While sitting courtside watching Summer League action with WNBA players Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick, Brown turned to Gondrezick to talk some shit on Bronny James, saying he wouldn’t be in the league without his name.

Brown: “I don’t think Bronny is a pro.’

Gondrezick: “I think he’ll be on the G-League team for sure”

Brown: “I don’t think so. I think because of his name he’ll be on the Lakers”

Jaylen Brown isn’t wrong here. Regardless of what you think about LeBron James or his son, it shouldn’t be hard for anyone to admit that Bronny is in the league for one reason and one reason only — he’s the son of the best basketball player of this generation.

That doesn’t necessarily have to be a bad thing. Any good parent would try their best to secure a seven-figure job for their child out of college. Two things can be true with this situation.

Nevertheless, the LeBron Mob came after Brown after this video surfaced Monday night and forced the Celtics star to walk it back on Twitter.

I respect Jaylen Brown for not saying, “That’s not what I said,” at least. The video evidence is impossible to deny. But he should’ve just let it go and not responded at all.

LeBron only has 1-2 years left in the tank. Once he’s gone, everyone will be able to speak freely about stuff like this. Why not just rip the bandaid off now, you know?
