Alex Sarr Washington Wizards Summer League

Washington Wizards No. 2 overall draft pick Alex Sarr had the worst NBA Summer League game EVER on Tuesday night.

I didn’t think the worst shooting performance of the week would come from the NBA Summer League after what happened in Butler, PA but 0-for-15 by a center is truly nasty stuff.

The Wizards lost 82-80 to the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night and Alex Starr posted one of the worst box scores in the history of the NBA. Alex Starr scored 0 points on 0-for-15 shooting from the field. He was 0-for-7 from three points range and 0-for-2 from the charity stripe.

Bronny James should have invited Sarr to his Call of Duty lobby last night to thank him for temporarily taking the spotlights off him during Summer League. He should also thank Sarr’s disaster-class for helping Bronny’s kill/death ratio in C.O.D. skyrocket. If the NBA isn’t going to workout, at least they can shift focus over to professional gaming.

Check out this shot chart from NBA.com. Sarr, regardless of where he was on the basketball court, wasn’t making anything.

Alex Sarr and the worst Summer League performance in NBA History

Shocker. The Washington Wizards’ drafted a super-skinny 19-year old big man with little experience against top competition NBA after spending last season in western Australia with Perth as part of the NBL Next Stars program and this was the result.

I can’t believe it.

Sike. Obviously this was going to happen and Sarr’s scouting report was all about his defensive capabilities. It was no secret that his offensive skillset needed rigorous development. It’s also just a Summer League game so before Wizards fans want to jump off the closest bridge, there’s still hope that Sarr can put things together.

Last night however, was quite literally the opposite of a confidence builder.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, it was the most field goal attempts by a players without making a shot in a Summer League game since at least 2017. His 15 missed shots would have been tied for the second most in NBA history if it had been a regular season game.

During Summer League, Sarr is averaging 6.7 points and 6.7 rebounds over three games and while playing solid defense, e has consistently struggled to score, shooting below 35% in all three games and 19.5% from the field overall.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.
