Philadelphia 76ers shoutout Mike Muscala after the veteran officially announced his retirement
Something I missed over the weekend but definitely worth a quick post. The Philadelphia 76ers gave a shout out to the legend himself, Mike Muscala who last week, hung up his basketball shoes and called it a career.

After playing with several teams last season, finishing the year with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the former second-round pick decided to announce his retirement.
People tend to forget that Muscala appeared in 47 games for the 76ers in the 2018-19 season.
Over 11 NBA seasons, he played for seven different teams, averaging 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds with a 37.3% three-point shooting. He appeared in a total of 548 games, starting 45 times throughout his career.
The 76ers social media accounts shared a picture of Muscala, which altered the direction of the franchise for years to come.
Muscala hit two three pointers in the bubble to secure a 22-point comeback victory for the Oklahoma City Thunder over the Miami Heat, 116-115.
With the Thunder winning, it officially conveyed the pick OKC owed to the Sixers. Philadelphia then used the 21st pick to select Tyrese Maxey.

Last November, Maxey dropped a 50 burger on the heads of the Indiana Pacers. He tallied seven rebounds, five assists, and three blocks with seven three pointers made from beyond the arc. He made sure to shoutout Mike Muscala after a career-night, thanking him for draining the threes that allowed the 76ers to draft him.
“I hear it so often,” Maxey laughed. “Bub (team security) reminds me at least twice a month. I’ve seen it and it’s great. That’s cool. I mean, that’s just ironic, I guess. Shoutout to Mike. I like being here.” (via USA Today)
Obviously, as Maxey continues to grow into a bonafide superstar in the NBA, Sixers fans are quick to remind anyone who’s paying attention on social media that Tyrese fell to No. 21 in the NBA Draft while praising Muscala for hitting what are now arguably the two most important threes in Sixers’ franchise history.
