Reggie Jackson plans to join the Sixers after clearing waivers from the contract buyout with the Hornets
Just a day removed from the Sixers signing guard Jeff Dowtin Jr to a two-way contract, the team is now expected to sign another guard. Not just any other guard, this player is Reggie Jackson, a playoff-tested veteran who will provide some much-needed depth to the roster.
As of this morning the Charlotte Hornets are officially waiving Reggie Jackson and according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, he plans to join the Sixers following this buyout.

Jackson was traded away from the Denver Nuggets to the Hornets in that six-team trade earlier this month, where we saw Klay Thompson leaving the Golden State Warriors and joining the Dallas Mavericks. Funny enough, the same trade that the Sixers sent Buddy Hield to the Warriors as well.
Reggie averaged 10.2 points and 3.8 assists for the Nuggets last season after winning a ring in Denver in 2023. He holds career averages of 12.6 points and 4.2 assists per game over 13 seasons in the NBA.
It’s worth noting that Jackson is a former Clippers teammate of Paul George, so there is some familiarity there that should only make his transition to Philly that much better.

Reggie Jackson has been amongst the very best bench contributors in the NBA and it’s notable that in his playoff career he’s averaged 10.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in the 87 games he’s played.
