WATCH: Eagles RB Saquon Barkley sounds off on fans, Jalen Hurts critics, contract negotiations and more on the Scoop City Podcast with Dianna Russini

Ever since Saquon Barkley shocked the NFL world and left the New York Giants to sign with their division rival the Philadelphia Eagles, it has been quite the media tour for the star running back. Barkley recently hopped on Dianna Russini’s podcast, Scoop City where he was very blunt on a variety of topics.

With training camp literally just kicking of this week, that didn’t stop Jalen Hurts from leaving a great impression on Saquon Barkley since joining the team.

Barkley on Eagles QB Jalen Hurts

“A lot of people have this view of him, and I think they’re wrong. He’s a great leader, he works his ass off. Those two things to me are the most important things.

The superstar RB also called Hurts “probably one of the best vocal leaders I ever met in my life.” He also praised Jalen’s mentality and approach to the weight room.

“And I see Jalen out there grinding. He’s pushing us. I’m not going to fall behind and vice versa. Like, we push each other. And when you have a guy like that, and if I’m able to come in and match that intensity, it’s just, it’s infectious throughout the whole team.

Saquon Barkley is hyped to be in Philadelphia

While Eagles fans probably don’t care anymore about the New York Giants side of things, I think we should continue to kick them while they are down. So with that said, here is Saquon detailing why New York was never a true suitor after general manager Joe Schoen told him to test free agency.

In the end, Barkley made out great after wasting his time playing for that joke of a franchise. His game should age well in the Eagles offensive scheme and the fact that the offensive line here is much better too. Stay tuned as the two NFC East teams are slated to square off in week 7 at MetLife Stadium.
