Travis Konecny inks 8-year extension with the Flyers, announced first by hockey insider Travis Sanheim
The Flyers have signed homegrown winger Travis Konecny to an eight-year contract extension with an annual average value of $8.75 million, keeping their leading scorer in Philadelphia for the foreseeable future.
Konecny signed a six-year contract in 2019, which will be extended starting in the 2025-26 season.
Right before the Flyers officially announced Konecny’s extension, Flyers defenseman and known Hockey Insider Travis Sanheim posted on Twitter that sources were telling him Travis Konecny wasn’t going anywhere.
That turned to be one hell of a source, as the Flyers announced the extension shortly after.
Hockey Insider Travis Sanheim confirms Travis Konecny contract extension
The Flyers selected Konecny with the 24th overall pick in the 2015 NHL draft. TK has 174 goals and 226 assists (400 points) in his 564 games over his eight year career – all of which has been played in Philadelphia.
Konecny notched 33 goals and 68 points in 76 regular-season appearances last season – both career highs. No doubt TK will first-line time, as well as first-unit power-play action in 2024-25. If he stays healthy, a 35-goal and 75-point season for Konecny is within reach.

Atrociously embarrassing contract Especially for a supposedly rebuilding team. But that was a clown show gaslighting lie I guess. I don’t know why I watch this team.
