White Corner University: Iowa finds heir to Cooper DeJean, names next starting white CB

The Iowa Hawkeyes wasted no time replacing top defensive back Cooper DeJean in their secondary.

After three seasons at Iowa, DeJean declared for the NFL Draft and was selected No. 40 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. That left a vacancy at one of their cornerback positions, and Iowa found their next man for the job: sophomore CB John Nestor.

The Hawkeyes released their 2024 preseason depth chart on Thursday, with Nestor listed as a starter alongside Quinn Schulte, Xavier Nwankpa, and Jermari Harris.

Nestor continues the tradition of Caucasian players starting at corner, following Riley Moss and Cooper DeJean (who both made it to the NFL).

The former three-star recruit appeared in ten games for Iowa as a true freshman last season. He’ll now get his first chance to become the next star pupil of White Corner University.
