WATCH: Orioles catcher James McCann takes 95mph fastball to the face, stays in the game in a legendary show of toughness

There was a tense moment today as the Baltimore Orioles took on the Toronto Blue Jays. Catcher James McCann took a 95mph pitch directly to the face, sending him to the deck, gushing blood out of his nose.

Many thought his day was over from there, but James McCann got himself cleaned up and took his base like an absolute animal:

Jesus Christ. That was a scary scene at the start there.

I was initially surprised he made it off the field on his own. The next thing I know, he’s getting a new jersey and strolling over to first base like nothing happened.

Obviously, I hated this guy when he was a Met. Now that he’s a Baltimore Oriole – The Liberty Line’s favorite American League club – I can say that he’s a beast with a clear conscience.
