Scott Kingery Hostage Crisis

Hostage Crisis: Scott Kingery needs to be on the Phillies 40-man and major league roster immediately

Let’s get right into it, shall we? Scott Kingery is basically a hostage in the Phillies organization.

The Philadelphia Phillies are in the midst of one of the worst-stretches of baseball during the Rob Thomson era. They were just swept at home by the New York Yankees. They no longer hold the best record in baseball, and have watched their dominant lead in the National League and NL East dwindle after posting a 10-14 record in the month of July.

Even with the Phillies’ in a miserable slump right now, they remain one of the best teams in all of Major League Baseball. The Phillies are a half-game behind the Cleveland Guardians (65-42) for the best record in the MLB.

Still, there’s a need for a spark in the lineup. While Nick Castellanos tends to heat up in August, the Phillies are entering a rough month where they will only face two teams with a losing record. They are in desperate need of a spark and there’s only one player in the minor league system that can deliver it.

The Time Is Now: Scott Kingery and JETPAX SZN

Entering a rough August schedule where they will only play two teams with a sub-.500 record, the Phillies need a spark and there is literally no one else in their entire minor league system that can provide one other than Scott Kingery.

Scott Kingery has been in Triple A jail at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies and honestly, I’m reaching the boiling point given the fact that he can play both the infield and outfield and has been putting up 40-man roster, major league numbers the entire 2024 season with the IronPigs.

This year, Kingery is hitting .265 with a .822 OPS. He has 20 dingers to go along with 51 RBI and 17 stolen bases. He has 82 hits and 53 runs scored in 314 at-bats in Lehigh Valley.

Last night, Kingery destroyed a three-run homer in a game that was suspended and has resumed today. Through four innings, Kingery is 2-3 with the homer and two runs scored.

At this point, we’re looking at a hostage situation in Lehigh Valley.

There’s no way that someone who’s putting up those types of numbers wouldn’t get a look at the major league level unless the ball club is completely ignoring them.

Scott Kingery Triple A Stats

Players that are ASS and on the Phillies 40-Man Roster

  • Rodolfo Castro still holds a spot on the 40-man roster. He’s hitting .200 in 35 at-bats this season.
  • Darick Hall is hitting .257 with a .748 OPS. He is a power hitting first baseman and only has 12 homers on the season.
  • Buddy Kennedy is playing well, hitting .293 with a .906 OPS and will likely get a look over Scott Kingery but he shouldn’t. He has 11 homers and 39 RBI.
  • Kody Clemens? Nope. He’s hitting just .236 with a .746 OPS – eight homers and 32 RBI.

On the major league roster, Edmundo Sosa is hitting just .233 with a homer and six RBI over his last 30 games (90 AB). Weston Wilson homered against the Yankees but has only notched six hits in 28 at-bats with the Phillies (.214 AVG) in the majors.

The storybook ending awaits. The Phillies need to cut the bullshit and get Scott Kingery back with the major league club immediately.

unfiltered, opinionated, and certainly do not care if you like it or not.

  1. Cutting any of the players you mentioned for Scott Kingery is malpractice and should cost somebody their job. Pretty retarded idea

    1. Never said to cut anyone. It’s a 40-man roster and thinking Rodolfo Castro is better is quite literally the dumbest thing I’ve ever read. Try again.

  2. The Phils have enough dysfunction at this point.Kinfery has been given enough chances. Unfortunately he was never the same after Covid. Great kid who caught a bad break

  3. This is not a hostage crisis. 115 Israelis being held for 300+days I. Gaza by Hamas terrorists is a hostage crisis.
This is a shifty ballplayer being allowed to play ball
