Joel Embiid riles up French fans after incredible performance, tells them to ‘suck it’ when they boo him
Joel Embiid put on an absolute masterclass against Serbia, willing Team USA to victory alongside Steph Curry and LeBron James. Jojo has long been the subject of ire from French fans since he declared he would play for the US, so he decided to take some extra time to rub their noses in it.
Joel Embiid stayed on the court specifically to antagonize the French fans, and the results did not disappoint:

And, of course, the obligatory close-up.

Embiid has heard the constant hate those stinky French fans have thrown at him since before the Olympics. So I think he’s more than allowed to rub their noses in it a little extra after such a phenomenal performance.
It is interesting that the French, former brutal colonial overlords of Cameroon and much of Africa, feel entitled to have Joel Embiid suit up for their team. Apparently, the French have forgotten the definition of self-determination.
France trying to play colony ball is embarrassing, especially with two French-born big men on the roster: Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert and Rookie of the Year Victor Wembenyama. What, you need a league MVP, too?
But, in classic French fashion, fans have found a way to bitch and complain. Why would Joel Embiid play for a second-tier nation like France, anyway?
Joel Embiid is the definition of an American. Bold, brash, and from somewhere else but loves it here so much he’s made this place a home for himself and his family for generations to come.
As it turns out, Joel Embiid and Team USA will take on France in the gold medal game for world basketball supremacy. The script could not be written any better, and it’s clear that Joel will have to play a big role in Operation Enduring Freedom to defeat the basketball terrorists that are Team France.
