Brandon Graham shares how Eagles teammate Jalen Hurts has a fresh new and improved view of life heading into the 2024 season
Defensive end Brandon Graham is gearing up for his 15th and final season with the Philadelphia Eagles. Over his career, he has celebrated a Super Bowl victory with the 2017 Eagles, who triumphed over the New England Patriots 41-33. Graham also came close to earning a second championship ring in 2022 when Philadelphia narrowly lost to Kansas City 38-35 in Super Bowl LVII.
As Graham prepares for his final season, he mentioned that Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is mentally ready for a big year under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

“You can just see that Jalen’s getting more comfortable by the day just the way he’s moving even quicker than he was last year,” Graham said on Tuesday. “I think he was probably dealing with some stuff last year. But you can tell that he got a new and improved view of just life this year, and I’m excited for him because you can tell that he is excited. You see him, like you always be on him about smiling, but I know him personally, so it’ll be like that boy is really happy with what’s going on, so I can’t wait to see him go out there and do his thing.”
So, as we embrace this new season and finally turn the page on last year’s events, I would argue this was the most important “change” that Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts needed to make. I never thought his regression last season was a skill issue; it was always mental. Not to mention how incredibly stale the offensive game plan and scheme were.
I’ve never been one of those “vibes police” people, but it didn’t take a genius to realize something was off last year, and Jalen didn’t seem like himself. BG also makes an excellent point about the media wanting Jalen to smile constantly. I think that is overplayed, as Hurts has always been more of an introvert. However, in the past, Hurts has seemed more emotional and expressive. This is something we have seen more of in training camp in preseason this year.
